Organisers the YMCA and The Children’s Society say the event at Fairthorne Manor near Southampton, is the world’s biggest gathering of young carers
I'm John Warburton with news that Friday July 1st saw the opening of a three-day festival for young carers. Organisers the YMCA and The Children’s Society say the event at Fairthorne Manor near Southampton, is the world’s biggest gathering of young carers. Apart from activities, games and rides, the groups running the Young Carers’ Festival say it’s also a chance for 11 to 16 year-olds to make their voices heard about what matters to them. The people behind the festival add that consultation with young carers has brought two changes in legislation to improve the support they get.
