Time in Nature improves youngsters' mental health, report finds

In the programme led by the Wildlife Trusts, and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, young people aged 11 to 24 reportedly created 350 areas that are now rich in nature

I'm John Warburton with news that the team behind a seven-year project bringing young people into closer contact with nature says the experience has left participants more confident, and better able to find work. Those are just two of the conclusions after 128,000 people took part in 31 projects with an organisation called “Our Bright Future”. In the programme led by the Wildlife Trusts, and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, young people aged 11 to 24 reportedly created 350 areas that are now rich in nature. The Wildlife Trusts hope the improvements in mental health and employability can lead to increasing numbers of participants experiencing similar projects.
