The scheme aims to get patients discharged earlier than normal and will see them given regular checks from health professionals from the comfort of their home
I’m Matt Rosser with news that hospital patients in Southend will be offered care at home under new plans to reduce bed blocking and tackle long delays. The scheme aims to get patients discharged earlier than normal and will see them given regular checks from health professionals from the comfort of their home. Figures for May show that a third of patients who were in need of the most serious A&E care at the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust waited longer than than the NHS target four hours to be seen. Under this new scheme care will be on offer to those patients who live alone or who don’t have access to support. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio
