The writers want better national anti-poverty policies, to cost local councils less, and keep families together.
I'm John Warburton with news that teams from two universities claimed this week that rising child poverty in England has forced an estimated 10,000 children into local authority care across five years, possibly costing local governments £1.4bn in the short term. When the survey came out from the Universities of Liverpool and Huddersfield, its lead author added that children being taken into care was happening disproportionately in the north east and parts of the north west. The writers want better national anti-poverty policies, to cost local councils less, and keep families together. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
