Figures also show that the number of carers has risen since before the pandemic to around 10.58 million, which is one in five of all adults
I'm John Warburton with news that rise in unpaid carers putting in longer hours. The proportion of unpaid carers spending long hours carrying out their responsibility has increased by nearly a half since late 2020. That’s according to a survey commissioned by seven charities including Carers UK, especially for Carers’ Week. Figures also show that the number of carers has risen since before the pandemic to around 10.58 million, which is one in five of all adults. Meanwhile, the government’s Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care Debora Sturdy says unpaid carers feature prominently in the Government’s adult social care reform white paper.
