The Carers’ Trust says Rishi Sunak missed an opportunity to support volunteers, even though the care system would collapse without them
I'm John Warburton with news there’s been a highly critical response to the Chancellor’s Spring Statement from a charity supporting unpaid carers. The Carers’ Trust says Rishi Sunak missed an opportunity to support volunteers, even though the care system would collapse without them. The charity claims even the minority, who get Carer’s Allowance, still face in real terms a fall in income. For its part, the government argues that vulnerable households could soon benefit from an additional 500 million pounds from the Household Support Fund.
