I’m John Warburton with news about what’s believed to be a startling rise in the number of patients seeking mental healthcare from the NHS. According to the Royal College of Psychiatrists, services were struggling to keep up with the 4-point-3 million referrals for mental health concerns made in 2021. Just under a quarter were for young people. But the government responded by saying it was investing more than 2-point-3 billion pounds a year into mental healthcare services.
