A report for the NHS Chief Executive says the current model is “not fit for purpose”
I’m Paul Hutton with news that a review of NHS services is calling for people to see a GP on the day they request an appointment. The report for the NHS Chief Executive says the current model is “not fit for purpose”. Author Dr Claire Fuller said too many patients are left “scrambling” for appointments, with “inadequate” access to urgent care. She wants “neighbourhood teams” created to coordinate community care, and make sure urgent care takes priority. We’ll have more on this and other stories here on Care Radio.
