No known date for start of new ambulance and other emergency services communications

I'm John Warburton with news that there’s still no start date being given by the Home Office for the planned new radio communications system for ambulance staff and other emergency services. That’s despite the National Audit Office flagging up that its development has already cost nearly £2bn, while Airwave, the old system, still costs nearly £3bn a year. Analysis for The Guardian says concerns about competition and costs have caused a switch in supplier for the new Emergency Services Network, but it’s still not known which company is going to get the contract.
