Plan to reduce waiting lists in England won’t work until at least 2024
I’m James Macdonald with news that the UK government have said a plan to reduce waiting lists in England won’t work until at least 2024 and this will drive people who can afford it into private healthcare. The latest estimates suggest 10 million people who needed NHS care did not receive it during the last two years and that figure could soon hit 14 million if NHS activity doesn’t improve. There’s also fears this could lead to health tourism in the wealthy as living costs are set to rise further. We’ll keep you updated on this and other stories here on Care Radio.
