NHS trust apologises after receptionist’s immigration questions to patient

The incident, reported by a BBC journalist, involved a man with a serious condition requiring urgent attention

I'm John Warburton with news that North Middlesex NHS Trust has apologised, after an A&E receptionist reportedly delayed emergency care by questioning a patient’s immigration status. The incident, reported by a BBC journalist, involved a man with a serious condition requiring urgent attention. The Trust says it will retrain staff, emphasizing A&E services are free regardless of immigration status, as confirmed by Health Minister Helen Whately. The patient is now recovering at home.
