The new system moves away from using paper charts to record key clinical observations such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels and temperatur

I'm James MacDonald with news that NHS Lanarkshire has tested a digital system that helps determine how ill patients are when they arrive at the emergency department. The digital observation system has been tested as part of the planning process for a new hospital in 2031. Dr Gordon McNeish, emergency medicine consultant at University Hospital Monkland, said: “The new system moves away from using paper charts to record key clinical observations such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels and temperature. Instead, clinical staff enter these onto iPads as patients arrive.” and are assessed in cubicles.”
