I’m James Macdonald keeping you up to date with news that the NHS diabetes remission app has saved thousands of pounds in medication costs. The York Health Economics Consortium demonstrated that over a five-year period the intervention can save between £509,435 and £673,108 when 3,000 licenses are funded. Previous research has shown that 6 in 10 people using the app showed a significant improvement in their HBA 1 C levels. If all clinical commissioning groups in England used the Low Carb Programme the NHS could save between £67 million and £91 million in diabetes costs.
