NHS advice to carers as heatwave peaks

Government advice says the most vulnerable include those with Alzheimer’s, people who are over 75, those with heart conditions and diabetes, and anyone confined to bed

I'm John Warburton with renewed advice from health services as temperatures in parts of Britain reach what’s predicted to be their highest, so far this year. There’s a particular plea to carers to reduce the danger of heat stress on anyone they’re looking after. Government advice says the most vulnerable include those with Alzheimer’s, people who are over 75, those with heart conditions and diabetes, and anyone confined to bed. Advice ranges from shading any south-facing windows, getting into the coolest room possible, and arranging better ventilation.
