New Alzheimer’s Drug Shows Promise

I’m Matt Rosser with news that a new drug has been hailed for its ability to slow the pace of brain decline caused by Alzheimer’s disease. In an 18-month trial 1800 people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s were given the drug Lecanemab. Scientists found the pace of their cognitive decline had been reduced by 27 per cent when compared with people given a placebo. The results have not yet been subjected to full scientific scrutiny but the charity Alzheimer's Research says it’s ‘the news we’ve all been waiting for’. There are more than 140 experimental Alzheimer’s drugs in clinical testing at the moment. For more care related news stay with us here at Care Radio.
