It was part of the Hallé Orchestra's “Community Link” programme to bring high quality professional music-making to the most diverse audience possible
I'm John Warburton with news that a major British orchestra has welcomed people living with dementia and their carers to a singing session designed especially to help with wellbeing. This Wednesday’s event in Manchester held by the Hallé Orchestra saw around 50 people joining professional musicians and a conductor to sing songs originally by artistes such as Bob Dylan and Frank Sinatra. It was part of the Hallé’s “Community Link” programme partly funded by the NHS, to bring high quality professional music-making to the most diverse audience possible. The orchestra is registered as a “dementia friendly” organisation. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
