At least sixteen children in the UK have died from invasive Strep A infections recently
I'm Matt Jones with news that home testing kits for Strep A have sold out after a spate of deaths from an invasive form of the infection. The illness is normally mild, but in some cases the bacteria has infected lungs and entered the bloodstream, causing serious and life-threatening symptoms. At least sixteen children in the UK have died from invasive Strep A infections recently, and some places in the UK report low stocks of antibiotics to treat the disease.For more care news, stay with us here on Care Radio.
