I'm James MacDonald with news that more than half of NHS Trusts and Health Boards are planning to provide food banks for their staff. In a survey of NHS charities more than 21 per cent said they already had an active food bank for their staff or are implementing one. It’s estimated nearly 5,000 NHS staff are making use of food banks on a monthly basis as the cost of living crisis takes hold. Some NHS trusts are also looking at voucher programmes, free breakfasts and subsidised meals. For more care news stay with us here at Care Radio.
