NHS England’s primary care director says GP practices need to upgrade their phone systems and make it easier for patients to find the information they need
I’m Matt Rosser with news that NHS England’s primary care director says GP practices need to find ways to prevent the morning ‘eight o’clock rush’ of calls from patients who struggle to get through to the surgery. Speaking at a webinar for GPs Dr Amanda Doyle said patients having to call repeatedly was ‘unacceptable.’ She called for practices to upgrade their phone systems and make it easier for patients to find the information they need. Dr Doyle also suggested creating a bank of reception and admin staff who could come into the practice in order to cover staff absences. For more care news stay with us here at Care Radio.
