This is Paul Hutton with news that experts say hospitals should routinely test patients with Covid for flu, because co-infection more than doubles the risk of death. In a major study published in the Lancet, researchers found those who had both coronavirus and flu were four times more likely to require ventilation than if they had Covid alone, and 2.4 times more likely to die. They say dual testing isn’t routine in hospitals, but should be.
