I'm Matt Jones with news that the Government says it is on track to recruit fifty thousand more nurses by 2024, though that claim is being questioned by a nursing union.The Royal College of Nursing says that the number of nursing vacancies has risen over the past year, not fallen, adding that there's still tens of thousands of vacancies, leading to longer waiting lists and delays in treatment. Recruiting nurses from abroad is expected to add around fifty thousand nurses, and a further seventy thousand will be trained at home.
