I’m Matt Rosser with news that the plan to make England ‘smoke-free’ by 2030 is unlikely to be met. Cancer Research UK says the target of fewer than 5% of adults smoking - the largest preventable cause of cancer and death in the UK - won’t be met because the rate that people are quitting has slowed. The Department of Health and Social Care says it is considering a range of recommendations set out in a recent review.
