I'm Matt Jones with news that ending special leave arrangements for NHS staff is unacceptable and will put patients and carers at risk, according to the British Medical Association. On Thursday the government plans to take away special paid leave for COVID-related sickness for NHS workers in England. Staff are currently paid in full while they are absent, but the BMA say withdrawing the arrangement will have a significant impact on workers' livelihood if they are ill for a long period of time.
