I'm John Warburton with news that critical reactions are coming in, after today’s (Friday 1st April) end of free parking for NHS hospital workers in England. Charges have returned as the government’s response to the pandemic reduces. TUC boss Frances O’Grady says the move is a “lousy way” to repay NHS workers, while the GMB union called the change a “sick joke”. For its part, the government points out the scheme had cost £130m over the two years it operated. We’ll update you on this and other news here on Care Radio.
