The care home believes a dog will encourage residents to get outdoors and walk it, leading to physical benefits. Taking care of Smudge can also help residents find a sense of purpose later in life
I'm Nick Meir with news that a FOUR-legged friend has joined as the latest recruit at a care home in Berkshire. Cockerpoo Smudge has been given the role of Canine Relations Manager, which means he'll be there to spend time with residents and encourage them to walk. The canine care companion is working at Care UK's Bickerton House in Bracknell. The care home believes a dog will encourage residents to get outdoors and walk it, leading to physical benefits. Taking care of Smudge can also help residents find a sense of purpose later in life. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
